Our people have spent decades honing their skills in every aspect of custom homebuilding. Our team’s experience spans the full scope of custom construction possibilities including traditional, timber frame, log and hybrid homes as well as condominiums, commercial and retail buildings.
You will find no team more experienced in applying progressive building practices to create custom homes of exceptional quality, value and distinction. We’re also known as leaders in sustainability. We are the force behind LEED rated residential and commercial buildings in Montana as certified by the US Green Building Council.
Every member of our team is not only a true professional and a master of their particular homebuilding area, they’re also good listeners and good people. We think that’s another reason so many of our clients remain our friends long after we’ve completed their homes.
Paul McElroy - Owner/Builder
Right from the beginning home building was fated to be in Paul’s future. His father was a homebuilder in Florida and Paul worked alongside him as a young man. Striking off on his own, Paul went to work for the Taylor Woodrow Corporation, an international construction company headquartered in London, England. As the company’s youngest regional manager in North America, Paul managed the construction of more than 100 custom homes per year. He gained insightful experience in all phases of construction while working with many of the leading architects in the field of custom home design during his tenure.
Destiny subsequently grabbed Paul by the shoulders and led him to Northwest Montana in 1993. While visiting friends in Whitefish, he saw and experienced what “quality of life” really meant. Within a single week he had bought a home, given notice at his job, and made plans to move his family to Montana. Not one to waste any time, Paul formed Montana Build soon after arriving. As a rustic residential builder in several exclusive communities, Paul formed a bond with Colton as preferred builders at Saddlehorn over their innate commitment to excellence and professionalism. With this foundation and new partnership Paul continues to do what he does best – build distinctive custom homes.
