Paul McElroy, after leaving Taylor Woodrow Corporation in the early 90s, he has, for the past 3 decades been on-site, day-to-day building beautiful custom homes throughout the Flathead Valley. The son of a builder and a licensed contractor, Paul, found his home in the Flathead Valley in the 1990s. You can expect Paul to oversee the entire construction process from conception to completion and beyond. Paul holds unparalleled expertise in construction techniques, material selection, and a visionary approach to design and functionality for any Montana home. A true advocate for you, the homeowner, Paul focuses on the highest standards of craftsmanship to maintaining Montana Build’s legacy of excellence in luxury residential construction throughout Whitefish, Bigfork, Flathead Lake, Columbia Falls, and Lakeside, as well as in exclusive communities like Saddlehorn, Iron Horse, Cattle Ranch Co, Wilderness Club, Osbourne Landing, Harbor Village, Branding Iron Station, Whitefish Hills and Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Pre-Construction Services Representative

Tanya will most likely be your first point of contact when you call in or stop by Montana Build. She takes pride in her number one goal - to make sure your expectations are met. She wears many hats, from Paul and James’ right-hand-woman, to the vital role of managing pre-construction services. She is a true professional at the planning and preparation phase of construction projects. She will be working with you when conducting feasibility studies, budget estimation, scheduling, and liaising with you to understand your exact needs throughout the project. Her knowledge of Montana’s construction processes, and her excellent communication style; will ensure your project is set up for success.

General Manager

James ensures smooth operations within Montana Build. With over 20 years’ managing business units and teams; he oversees Montana Build administratively. James will build the best team for you and your vision. He empowers the Team to be creative, while keeping your needs and wants top of mind. You will see James at all stages of your home build, from design, through construction, to completion and beyond.

Interior Designer

Marisa is our poet, with a degree in Interior Design from Montana State University. She is responsible for creating beautiful and functional spaces for your new home. She excels at collaborating with architects, interior designers, the build team, and especially you, the homeowners. Her attention to detail throughout the building process will keep you energized when making selections. Her eye for design in changing styles and technological landscapes will make you feel heard and informed. You will come to love Marisa for how she collaboratively helps you through the wealth of creative decisions and by being a constant line of communication to the field team to make your creative dreams come true.

Construction Project Manager

“Super” Dave is Montana Build’s tenured Construction Project Manager; he oversees the execution of your construction project from start to finish. Working closely with Paul and his in-house team, he is responsible for the month-to-month and day-to-day planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervision of every aspect of your project to ensure we meet deadlines and the high-quality standards set by Paul and the Montana Build brand. His straight-talking style, seasoned leadership and problem-solving skills, make him one of the most experienced project managers in the Flathead Valley.

Construction Project Manager

Ty is exactly what you expect from a life-long cowboy and builder. He is the embodiment of Cowboy ethics, softly spoken and driven by integrity – he does what he says and says what he does. He too; oversees the execution of your construction project from start to finish. Mentored by Paul, he is responsible for the planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervision of every aspect of your project. Quiet simply; he meets deadlines and completes beautiful homes. He leads by example; he’ll be the first on site and leads his team with a deft touch that only a seasoned hand can appreciate.

Jim Bob is a stalwart in the Flathead Valley Construction industry, softly spoken and exceptionally experienced – he is the seasoned PM you want on your job. Jim Bob has a fantastic eye for design and will help guide you through all the options available to you. An experienced pilot, he runs a project with a level disposition and attention to detail – a true life-long professional!

Amanda keeps you & us on track. Your project will benefit from her decades of experience in manufacturing, purchasing and operational finance. She is the woman you want behind the scenes, driving suppliers’ costs down and directly managing you through the billing process. Amanda provides you financial oversite for your budget, as well

Purchasing Manager / In-House Project Managers

Rachel and Jenn, are integral to a successful building project. They go to bat for you when sourcing and procuring materials with suppliers, managing inventory, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining cost efficiency. They have a talent for getting ‘local rates’ on a host of different things. If knowledge is power, these women hold the power. While other builders are raising their costs and margins, Rachel and Jen keep suppliers and sub-contractors honest. Clear scopes of work, tight contracts and concise processes keep costs down and the quality high.
